How to use the Resume Analyzer
Score your resume the way an ATS scanner would, check its fit against a specific job, then optimize it, draft a matching cover letter, and export polished Word/PDF documents.
Quick start
- 1Attach resume (.pdf / .docx / .txt) or paste it in.
- 2Add a target role and/or job description for a fit score and tailored optimization.
- 3Click Analyze, then optimize, pick a template, and download.
Analyze
Add your resume, optionally a target role and/or job description (paste or Load from URL), and click Analyze. You get an ATS readiness score plus section, keyword, gap, and quality breakdowns — and a Job fit score when a description is present.
Optimize & refine
Click Tailor resume to this job or Optimize to industry standard to generate an optimized resume (a matching cover letter is drafted automatically). Refine with the Refine with AI chips or your own instructions, edit the text directly, and click Analyze optimizedto see the before → after comparison. It only reworks what was in your original — it won't fabricate experience.
Templates & export
Choose from many templates (single- and two-column), optionally Set as default, then download the resume as Word (.docx) or PDF, and the cover letter via Copy / Word / PDF.
Tips for the best results
- ATS and job-fit scoring run locally in your browser; the AI does a separate, deeper review in the chat.
- No job description? You're scored against your field's keyword baseline — add a JD to score against that posting's exact terms.
- Word exports stay single-column for ATS even for two-column templates (which affect only preview and PDF).
- Re-run Analyze optimized after editing — the comparison metrics don't auto-refresh.
