How to use the Audio Note Taker
Record a meeting or a voice memo (or paste a transcript) and get a clean AI summary with decisions and action items — then push those to reminders or your calendar.
Quick start
- 1Pick Personal note or Meeting, click Record, and speak.
- 2Click Stop & summarize to end and generate the recap automatically.
- 3Push follow-ups to Add to my reminders, or export dated items to your calendar.
Record or capture
Choose the note type, then Record with your mic — the transcript builds live. For a group call, also turn on Include other participants and share the meeting tab/screen so their audio is transcribed too. No mic? Just paste or type into the Transcript box.
Summarize
Click Stop & summarize (or Summarize any time) to get a structured Summary & action items recap — key points, decisions, and follow-ups. Work-type notes come back with a practical fix and runnable code. Add a title, or let one be generated for you.
Reminders & calendar
Click Add to my reminders to send follow-ups to your notification bell, or Add to calendar (.ics) / Add to Google Calendar to turn dated items into events.
Calendar events need an explicit date/time (e.g. “by Friday 3pm”) — undated items are skipped.
Saving
Notes auto-save to your history (audio itself is never stored). Use New to start a fresh note, or reopen any Saved note from the rail. Each new recording becomes its own timestamped note.
Tips for the best results
- Mic recording needs Chrome or Edge on desktop; otherwise paste a transcript.
- Capturing other participants needs the server transcription key — without it only your mic is recorded.
- Transcripts are trimmed to ~40,000 chars when summarizing, so very long sessions are partially analyzed.
- Reminders in the bell are untimed; use the calendar export for timed alarms.
